Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)

Low-income households may qualify for limited-time, monthly credit toward internet service.

CarolinaConnect is participating in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a federal benefit program aimed at assisting low-income households. For qualifying households with a demonstrated financial need and for a limited time, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) will lower the cost of internet service by providing a monthly credit.

How ACP works
For eligible, low-income households, ACP will provide one credit up to $30 per month toward CarolinaConnect’s fiber optic internet service. The FCC sends the credit funds to CarolinaConnect. Then, CarolinaConnect applies the credit directly to an eligible customer’s account.

IMPORTANT:

  • ACP is non-transferrable per qualifying household and limited to one monthly internet credit per qualifying household.
  • The customer is responsible for all charges over the credited amount.
  • Households may not receive ACP benefits from multiple providers.
  • If the FCC ends the program or when a household is no longer eligible, the customer will be subject to CarolinaConnect’s regular rates, terms and conditions.

Am I eligible?
Your household is eligible for ACP if a household member meets one of the criteria below:

  • Household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
  • Household member participates in one of these assistance programs:
    • Lifeline
    • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
    • Medicaid
    • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
    • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
    • Supplemental Nutritional Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
  • Receives benefits from the free and reduced-price school lunch program or breakfast program or is enrolled in a school or school district that offers the Community Eligibility Provision
  • Received a Federal Pell Grant this calendar year
